A Prayer for Yonatan Razel

by Rami ben Ze'ev

Reports from Israel indicate that Israeli singer, composer, and pianist Yonatan Razel suffered a stroke and was hospitalised at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. His family has asked the public to pray for him using the name Yonatan Adi ben Chaya Rachel. More recent reports state that he is conscious and receiving treatment, while prayers continue throughout Israel and the Jewish world for his recovery.

For many people, Yonatan’s music has never been merely entertainment. His songs have carried words of Torah, emunah (faith), longing, gratitude, and hope into homes, synagogues, celebrations, and moments of personal reflection. Through melodies that touched both the religious and secular worlds, he helped many people draw closer to something greater than themselves.

Moments such as these remind us how fragile life can be. A voice that has strengthened others can suddenly become the subject of countless prayers. The songs that once rose from his lips are now joined by the voices of many asking the Master of the Universe to grant him healing and renewed strength.

May this difficult moment become one of mercy, kindness, and recovery, and may those who have been uplifted by his music now uplift him through their prayers.

Prayer for His Health

Master of the Universe, Healer of all flesh and Performer of wonders, we ask that You look with compassion upon Yonatan Adi ben Chaya Rachel.

Please send him a complete healing from Heaven. Remove from him all illness, weakness, pain, and suffering. Strengthen his body, restore his mind, and renew his spirit. Guide the hands of the doctors and all those caring for him, and grant them wisdom and success in their efforts.

May every part of his body be restored to health and proper function. May his strength return day by day, and may he soon rise from sickness to wellness, from weakness to strength, and from concern to joy.

May the merit of the holy Torah, the prayers of Israel, and Your abundant mercy stand for him. May we soon hear only good news concerning Yonatan Adi ben Chaya Rachel, and may he be granted a swift and complete recovery among all the sick of Israel.

Amen.
